Julia’s Journeys

“Julia’s Journeys” is the title of Lark’s current series of paintings, which include the written backstories that inspired them.  They tell the story of her brave Grandmother, and her emigration to the U.S.  They start in the early 1940’s, when Julia was a young woman in Guatemala in a bad situation.  They are loosely based on her life, with many embellishments.  Julia made her goal in four years, to a place where there were few hispanics.  It wasn’t easy for her, but she discovered a new world along the way.

Lark wanted to post these backstories for a deeper perspective into the paintings.  She hopes you enjoy Julia and her many adventures.
